Program editor
The Web author program editor not only allows you to edit and modify your authoring commands you can also save programs as template files, view Web page source code, include your own library files, and publish your Web pages all within an integrated Windows environment.
Startup manager
To get started using Web author it is recommended that you first view the Startup manager. This dialog allows you view information on What is Web author, Using the editor, Using commands, and Quick start tutorial. To activate this dialog simply click on Tools from the editors menu and select Startup Manager.
Editor preferences
Simply select preferences from the editors options menu to display the preferences dialog box. This dialog box allows you to change a number of the editors preferences such as Backup files when saving, Show statusbar file name, and Verify exit program.
Document properties
The document properties dialog box gives you more control over managing your Web page properties. From here you can setup your document commands such as Web page title, description, and keywords.
Using images
The Image dialog box allows you to insert an image into your Web page using the Display image command. This dialog box also allows you to include other image properties such as Alternative text, Horizontal space, and Vertical space.
Text files
The Text file dialog box allows you to include text document files within your Web pages. Simply click on Text File from the editors Include menu. Then click on the Locate button to locate the document file to use within your Web page.
Hypertext links
This dialog box allows you to include various links within your Web pages. Simply click on the locate button to select an image, sound file, or Web page you would like to link to, then enter a description for your link within the Link text input field.
Using tables
The tables dialog box will give you more control over displaying tables within your Web pages, allowing you to present information in an organised way.
List
The List dialog box allows you to display unordered, and ordered list items within your Web pages. Unordered lists items can be used to display information using bullets, circles, or squares. Ordered list items can be used to display step by step instructions within your web pages using numbers.
Web author FTP
The Web author FTP dialog box allows you to upload your Web pages and files from your PC to a FTP site. You can also load and save multiple login profiles for the remote publishing site, and transfer your Web pages and files on both systems.
Internet search
The Internet search dialog box allows you to find information on the World Wide Web. You can perform your search using the following search engines - Google, Yahoo, Msn, and Lycos. Simply type in a word or phrase within the relevant input field and click on the Search button to carry out your search.
Program notes
This dialog box allows you to enter notes, comments, or other information relevant to the program or project you are currently working on. Simply enter your comments within the text input box and click on the Save button to save your notes to disk.
